Reports To: Tent Rentals Logistics Manager  / Operations Director
Department: Tent Rental Department

Job Overview:
The Tent Department Team Lead will oversee the daily operations of the tent rental and setup processes for an event and party rental company. This role requires leadership, organization, and strong communication skills to ensure the safe and efficient setup, breakdown, and maintenance of tents for various events, including weddings, corporate functions, festivals, and private parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of tent setup crews to ensure that all events are executed to the highest standards.
    • Delegate tasks and ensure that crew members understand and follow all safety protocols.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to crew members in the proper techniques for tent setup, teardown, and maintenance.
    • Ensure that the team is punctual and well-prepared for each event.
  2. Tent Setup & Teardown:
    • Oversee the accurate and efficient setup of tents, ensuring that they meet client specifications and are secure and safe.
    • Coordinate and manage the teardown process, ensuring all equipment is returned to the warehouse in good condition.
    • Ensure that the tents are properly cleaned and stored after each event.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Assist with managing and maintaining the inventory of tenting equipment, including poles, stakes, sidewalls, flooring, and other related accessories.
    • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or damaged items to the Tent Rental Logistics Manager.
    • Ensure all equipment is inspected before and after each use to maintain quality and safety.
  4. Customer Relations:
    • Act as the main point of contact for clients and event coordinators during the setup and teardown process, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional manner.
    • Ensure that clients’ needs are met, and that tents and other equipment are installed according to their specifications.
    • Assist with problem-solving any on-site issues or unexpected situations related to the tents or equipment.
  5. Safety & Compliance:
    • Enforce all safety guidelines and industry standards during the setup, teardown, and maintenance of tents.
    • Ensure that all necessary permits and inspections are in place as required by local regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training for tent department staff to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within the event rental industry, preferably in the tent rental or setup field. Construction experience is also a plus.
    • Experience in team supervision and leadership, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of employees.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in outdoor conditions.
    • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by event schedules.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of tenting systems, structures, and equipment.
    • Ability to use tools and equipment necessary for tent installation and maintenance.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing issues.
    • Attention to detail and ability to ensure high-quality service.

  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Valid driver’s license (CDL’s a plus).

Work Environment: This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, long hours during peak event times, and the physical ability to work with large equipment and teams. The Team Lead should be prepared to travel to event locations as necessary.
