Job Title and Overview
The Linen Associate position comprises of multiple positions within our Linen Department. Every position has different functions; however, every position is essential to the success of our linen operation. This position reports to the Linen Team Lead & Warehouse Manager.
Working Conditions
Must stand for long periods of time. Most work will be in general warehouse conditions, in which some work areas will not be heated or air conditioned. Exposure to above average temperatures is prevalent. The typical tools (crates, dollies, racks, etc.) can be considered hazards. Most mechanical equipment used are electrical and may be gas fired. The exposure to moving belts is possible in some departments. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard; hence a sense of smell is required.
Tasks & Activities:
- Inspecting linens for cleanliness and quality.
- Sorting, washing, drying, folding and/or hanging linens according to company standards.
- Checking inventory levels and restocking as needed.
- Ironing and steaming linens to ensure they are presentation ready.
- Storing linens in an organized manner to prevent damage or wrinkles.
- Assisting with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure timely delivery and pickup of linens.
- Following proper safety and sanitation procedures while handling linens.
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse space.
- Picking and packing orders efficiently and accurately using an RFID scanning system.
- Receiving incoming inventory and ensuring accurate counts using an RFID scanning system.
- Loading and unloading of washers and dryers.
- Assisting in other linen and warehouse tasks as required during peak periods.
Education, Skills & Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Must possess customer relation skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Computer knowledge is preferred. Training in rental software will be provided if necessary.
- Must pass the company drug screen.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Must have a full range of motion and dexterity.
- Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience.
- Must be able to work some weekends and overtime.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of inventory in department.
- Superior time management and multitasking abilities.
- High sense of urgency.
