Job Title and Overview
The General Warehouse Associate position comprises of multiple positions within our warehouse. Every position has distinct functions and works in different departments. These positions include working in our linen, kitchen, and/or chair departments.
Working Conditions
Must stand for extended periods of time. Most work will be in general warehouse conditions, in which some work areas will not be heated or air conditioned. Exposure to above average temperatures is prevalent. The typical tools (crates, dollies, racks, etc.) can be considered hazards. Most mechanical equipment used is electrical and may be gas fired. The exposure to moving belts is possible in some departments. May have exposure to chemicals, including gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and cleaning solvents. Propane is an obvious hazard; hence a sense of smell is required.
Tasks & Activities
- Tasks will vary based on the specific position.
- Follow “Ready to Rent” cleaning procedures, which may include use of pressure washers, chemicals, compressed air and, when necessary, kitchen and laundry cleaning equipment.
- After cleaning, thoroughly check operation of equipment and look for missing fasteners, parts, etc.
- If items are not working properly or have missing parts, be sure to properly complete service tags and notify supervisor.
- Keep warehouse and dock areas clean and neat — keep all shelves free of dust, keep floor swept, etc.
- Stock service area.
- Keep all rental equipment neatly displayed, per diagram provided.
- Communicate with Team Lead and Warehouse Manager.
- Report safety violations to Warehouse Manager.
- Fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in written or verbal form.
- Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
- Attend department and company meetings.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- May assist with Customer Pickups & Returns
- Quality and quantity control of inventory.
Education, Skills & Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required.
- Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
- Must possess customer relations skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Computer knowledge is preferred. Training in rental software will be provided if necessary.
- Must pass the company drug screen.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
- Must have a full range of motion and dexterity.
- Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience.
- Must be able to work some weekends and overtime.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of inventory in department.
- Superior time management and multitasking abilities.
- High sense of urgency.
